The overall architectural planning of the Qian Xuesen Library was led by Professor He Jingtang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a designer of the China Pavilion at the World Expo. The whole library is a square-shaped crimson weathering steel building with Qian Xuesen's head relief on the outer wall. Designers use advanced technology to rely on the different texture densities of brick materials to express this relief, successfully combining the commemorative theme with the "image" approach.
