The Owl Creek
SA588 weather-resistant steel home is situated on a hillside with panoramic views of Snowmass Mountain. The design is based on the idea that physical space can deepen the relationship between the occupants and their relatives and friends and even nature. By directly anchoring the SA588 weathering steel building to the terrain, the constraints such as the slope of the site are effectively solved.
The Owl Creek SA588 weathering steel home provides an independent home for two families. There is also a common area resembling a lodge that creates a private but open space for the occupants.
Natural daylighting is a key consideration in the project to minimize the visual separation of indoor and outdoor spaces. This all-season mountain home is an effective way to promote social connections while creating a new connection between the occupants and the rugged Rocky Mountains landscape.
