We all know that most steel plates are cut by cold and hot cutting, and
WearTuf450 wear-resistant steel is no exception. Cold cutting refers to water jet cutting, cutting, sawing or abrasive cutting. Thermal cutting refers to flame cutting, plasma cutting, and laser cutting. When the steel plate is cutting small parts, the heat provided by the welding torch and preheating will be accumulated in the workpiece.
WearTuf450 wear-resistant steel cutting workpiece size must not be less than 200mm, otherwise the workpiece will have a risk of softening. A good solution to the risk of softening is cold cutting, such as water jet cutting. If hot cutting must be used, only plasma or laser cutting can be selected. This is because flame cutting provides more heat to the workpiece and thus increases the temperature of the workpiece.
The underwater cutting method is an effective method to limit and reduce the range of the softening zone. That is, WearTuf450 wear-resistant steel plate is cut in water, and it can also be sprayed with water on the cutting surface. The underwater cutting method can choose plasma or flame cutting. Underwater cutting has the following characteristics: small heat-affected zone of cutting; preventing the hardness of the entire workpiece from decreasing; reducing deformation of the cutting workpiece; and cooling the workpiece directly after cutting.
