At present, the production and utilization of solid waste in China's steel industry mainly has the following characteristics: the amount of solid waste generated is large. China's iron and steel industry solid waste production accounts for about 15% of the country's industrial solid waste. If it counts the mining enterprises iron tailings and waste rock, it accounts for a higher proportion. At the same time, China's steel production is dominated by blast furnace-converter long process. By the end of 2018, China's long-flow crude steel production accounted for nearly 90%, and the production of solid waste per ton of steel was higher than that of electric furnace.
Moreover, there are many solid waste varieties and complex compositions. Affected by the steel production process and steel grades, the iron-containing mud components produced by different processes are different, and the steel components of different steel grades are quite different. Standardized disposal and resource utilization are under great pressure. There are many iron and steel enterprises and the concentration is not high. It is difficult for a single enterprise to use large-scale solid waste for large-scale economic utilization.
